It works well as a flashlight, with very bright white light shining 10 to 20 feet away in a dispersed pattern. Very comfortable to hold, and not too heavy.The rechargeable battery in mine failed to hold a charge after only eight months. And the battery is not covered by the Brinkmann warranty, so the flashlight is already toast. These are re-chargable and hold a charge for a long time plus offer a long usage time on a single charge. Illumination is excellent and can be switched for one or two bulb operation. The Brinkmann lights are smaller, fit the hand well and are easy to operate but are probably too big for the average glovebox. A great light for use around the house. The deal is you set your camera white balance to 2900K and illuminate your subject with this light in a scene that is otherwise in daylight (or daylight equivalent). What you get is a natural colored subject and everything else in a nifty shade of blue. It's also effective for light painting and other night time tricks.
